In 2006, Patek Philippe launched the reference 5711 to celebrate the anniversary of the Nautilus, a masterwork by the Swiss company originally designed by the world-renowned Gérald Genta in 1976. Its design and magnetism never ceased to attract attention, and the recent discontinuation of the reference has increased its allure even further.
The present lot not only offers a great opportunity to acquire the much sought-after reference, but also bears the Tiffany & Co. signature on its dial, the oldest American retailer of Patek Philippe, which falls into a subculture of collecting in its own right. Produced in 2011, it ranks among the first examples of 5711’s to have the Geneva seal replaced with Patek Philippe’s own seal, attesting to another level of excellence.
The watch is in very good condition. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion.
