Audemars Piguet celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak by launching a timepiece with upgrades and avant-garde materials for its Royal Oak Concept CW1 in 2002. They were one of the first manufacturers to design cases, buckles and other components made of carbon for timepieces, using their newest technology in the Concept model.
The Royal Oak Concept Carbon CCW1 boasts an amazing skeleton dial and an open back that shows the design and multi-layered structure, allowing the owner to get a glimpse of the impressive movement. The Concept carries a caliber 2985 tourbillon chronograph with 388 components and a 237 power reserve. The convenient function is located at 6 o'clock, while the R indicates winding, the N indicates neutral and the H indicates hours. The Concept is made of a carbon case with a ceramic bezel and titanium caseback, allowing lightness and comfort for everyday wear.
The watch is in overall good condition with light wear throughout commensurate with age. Case is in overall good condition with minor surface wear. Strap has minor signs of surface wear throughout commensurate with age. Dial is in overall good condition. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
