While many people would consider the Rolex Sea-Dweller a model of its own category today, it was once regarded as a subdivision of the Submariner model. Back in the 1960s, when Rolex was designing a watch to withstand the overpowering pressure and assist divers in deep water operations, Rolex took the module of the reference 5513 and incorporated a Helium Escape Valve, and thus it became the original concept of the now iconic Sea-Dweller.
The watch is in overall fair condition with moderate wear throughout commensurate with age. Case is in overall fair condition with moderate surface wear and scratches. Bracelet has moderate signs of stretch, scratches and surface wear commensurate with age. Buckle has signs of scratches. Acrylic crystal has minor scratches. Dial is in overall good condition. Caseback has minor signs of scratches throughout commensurate. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion.
