The Cartier Tank Americaine was designed in 1987 and finally launched in 1989 as the first curved case Cartier ever featured, including a water-resistant case, a new folding buckle and using the same mechanism Cartier has been using since 1910. The Tank Americaine was inspired by the Tank Cintrée, which was originally designed in 1921, with a slightly sportier and slim, curved and bolder-looking case.
The watch is in overall good condition with light wear throughout commensurate with age. Case is in overall good condition with minor surface wear and scratches. Strap has signs of surface wear throughout commensurate with age. Dial is in overall good condition. Bezel has minor signs of scratches. Caseback has minor signs of scratches. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion.
