Level into the neck

Incredible colour. Vibrant and full of damp earth and black truffles on the nose. So youthful and silkily vanillin on the palate. Such a beautiful centre to it. Remarkable as a so-called "second wine". Michel Roux of Le Gavroche did a marvellous pan fried duck foie gras, crispy pancake and a port and cinnamon reduction dish that went superlatively with this wine. In 2011, it remains a luscious wine that is still amazingly youthful. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
