2023 marks the fiftieth anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s death. Throughout the year, museums and cultural institutions worldwide are paying homage to the esteemed painter-printmaker’s legacy with exhibitions tracing the development of his varied oeuvre. This spring, Sotheby’s London will join in celebrating Picasso’s genius with a singular Important Picasso Ceramics auction. Open for bidding from 14-21 April, the forthcoming sale will include a diverse selection of the fanciful ceramics he created at the Madoura Pottery in Vallauris, alongside his sought-after silver and gold editions.
